The Club
At the moment, the Oestringen Friends
of Photography have 32 members. The club is engaged in fostering and carrying on amateur photography. We organize club nights, discuss pictures, invite lecturers on any photographic subject under the sun, undertake photo excursions and do darkroom work, we hold beginners' courses and we are in contact with the public.
Two of our activities have become central events of our club life: Every other year our members are given the possibility
of proving the standard of their photographic level during the photo
exhibitions that we organize. These exhibitions have also been shown in
our French twin town of Thiviers/Dordogne. A small selection from our members' work can be seen in our "virtual" picture gallery.
The Oestringen Camera Fair has become known far beyond our region among collectors and photographers not only throughout Germany, but also in the neighbouring countries. The 34th
Östringen Camera Fair will be held on ? ? (postponed) in 2020. Collectors and dealers from all over Central Europe will be offering their items (see the page "Die Oestringer Fotoboerse").
Visitors as well as dealers praise the organization of the fair and the quality of the coffee and home-made cake
from our cafeteria.
